Armani Exchange Mixed Media Backpack

Firstly I would like to apologize for the lack of post. As to why I was gone for a month, basically, I went a for a few trips with my friends and family. The few places I went was simply breathtaking, places include Hong Kong, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I do hope to be able to share these wonderful experiences with you guys. However, do give me some time to pick up on my blogging.

Stuff I got in the United States.

Honestly, a good vacation definitely consists of shopping. Everyone’s with me with this? Well, for myself, I have this habit of visiting the local brand of that country to get the best deals and comparatively cheaper price items of that specific brand. So it was no surprise I went straight to Armani Exchange during my trip in the states. Armani Exchange is super expensive in Malaysia, so honestly, I won’t spend the money in my own country.

I came across this lovely bag. Armani Exchange Mixed Media

Armani Echange

It was priced at USD198 less 40%. With that discount, you know I had to get it. Not had to, but I wanted to.

This is what the website describe it’s bag:
Crafted from a mix of leather, cotton and nylon, our multi pocket backpack is a a take everywhere kind of bag.
mixed fabricated
snap closure on front pocket
multiple pocket design
h: 19.0″ l: 14.0″
50% cotton, 50% nylon, 100% leather trim
imported
Well, for me, I am a fan of Armani Exchange and the design of the bag was what I wanted, so I got it. It came in 2 color. Blue and green, I got the blue one because it looked more elegant and more Armani-Exchange-style, if you get what I mean. The picture below shows the bag and it’s alternate color.

Let me know what you think about it. Yay or nay? Will post more stuff I bought from my holiday, believe me, there’s alot of them!

New Balance Fall 2013 Collection – Herschel Supply Co

Herschel Supply Co and New Balance present a second capsule collection, created over a shared heritage and goal of delivering high-quality, timeless goods. The theme of it is out in the woods where I think definitely catches the attention of mine. I never been a fan of New Balance, however Herschel is quite famous among my friends, therefore it’s quite interesting to see this joint venture.

Personally I would go to a store and get these right now, however, there isn’t any Herschel outlet in Malaysia. One of the interesting thing is the Heritage NB backpack with a signature shoe pocket and custom paisley lining. Previously exclusive to the Novel duffel, the shoe pocket is ideal for storing New Balance styles separately inside the bag.

This interesting design cost $79.99. I would say it’s a little bit pricey, but if the quality is good, I would definitely invest in it. To me, shoes and bags are would the investment, because they follow you everywhere you go! What do you guys think?

Short Sleeve Shirts

Finally after a long gruesome semester, I finally have the time to do some shopping by myself. I did not intend to get anything at first, but there were sales throughout the store, so I had to check them out. I pass by Springfield and immediately fell in love with the shirt. It was something I intended to get for a long time, but couldn’t find the right cutting or design, therefore I got it instantly.

I especially love the design and the blue of the shirt and it was the final piece! Therefore it is so much more worth it!

Springfield is an European brand. Even though it’s not my favourite brand, but I would often walk in to check out their new stuff. Springfield was founded in 1988 with the objective of dressing urban and cosmopolitan young men. Today, they are celebrating their 25th anniversary.

I like the young, hip and trendy style they produced but not too wild for the average men to wear. I believe if you are a male from the age of 13-30, the style would fit you well.

Check out more on their website. http://www2.spf.com/

I was not a fan of short sleeve shirts, never been a fan of it till recently though. I used to find it weird, because of some teacher who wore it wrongly in high school, but recently after having to looking at some celebrities rocking it, I became a fan. One of them is Louis Tomlinson from One Direction.

I love how he look so good in short sleeve shirts, so you can say my inspiration comes from him. Will update on my outfit of the day of my shirt, but have to wash it first. Let me know what you think of short sleeve shirts. Would you wear it or not?

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014

Burberry Prorsum first caught my eyes for it’s Fall 2013 collection. I was walking down a shopping complex outside Burberry and the runway show caught my attention. But unlike any runway shows, I actually love most of it’s collection of that season. It is not only practical, but it’s fashionable. Most outfit combines with an umbrella so that it’s practical when it’s raining and London don’t get much sun during the fall and winter.

A small flashback to their collection back then:

Some of my personal favourites from that collection.

Enough of that, here is a few of my personal favourites from the collection of Spring 2014. I like how bright the colour that was use in this collection, it shows a mixture of bright colours in an outfit that actually grabs people attention. I personally don’t think it is easy to pull off, but it will be very nice if you pull it off.

I personally love the outfit above because of the simple white shirt and black slacks but with the striking colour tie and scarf makes it all the more unique.

I love the shoes collection from Burberry Prorsum where it doesn’t stick to the old fashion leather formal shoes but with newer design shoes, like boat-shoes…

Sorry for the slow updates. I was quite busy for the past few weeks. I promise more frequent posts and definitely more topics touch rather than only the latest fashion menswear runway shows. Stay tune. Do give me some feedback.

Gothic Menswear Fashion / Givenchy Fall 2013

I recently helped a friend did a small amount research on the brand Givenchy and it’s fashion concept, whereby design an interior of a retail outlet for it. We came up with Gothic fashion for Givenchy. I might as well share my research here for a better understanding of Gothic fashion and how Givenchy express it in it’s menswear.

When it comes to design, merely just designing would not be good enough but a design with a concept is what people are looking for. Designers are often asked what inspiration they have during design to create that fabulous collection, therefore it is essential to have one as designers.

Givenchy is inspired by Gothic fashion in most of it’s collection through out the years.

Gothic fashion is a clothing style marked by conspicuously dark, mysterious, exotic, and complex features. Complex features can mean the ornaments and prints on shirt. Ornaments to my interpretation is spikes and studs.

TPhoto is from fashitects.

How is Gothic fashion translate to menswear? Well, it’s dark, mysterious and complex.

F/W 2009 Collection from Ann Demeulemeester. Based in blacks and whites, it embraced an earth-toned color palette.

A very nice interview with Gothic Remaissance by Madly Juicy. Check it out! http://www.madlyjuicy.com/?p=6563

Personally, I find Givenchy has a unique style, but I don’t find it practical, hence not owning any items from it. A brief introduction to Givenchy Fall 2013 collection, some of my favourites and relating to Gothic fashion.

“Riccardo Tisci wanted to make a much more couture collection for menswear, he was keen to challenge himself by offering something more chic, more…well, couture-ish. And there it was, in experimental new cuts, collarless and lapel-less, and in a new depth of fabrication.” Quote Style.com

The printed T looks amazing, but the cutting isn’t what I would often wear.

A simple example of ornamentation on jackets.

I find that the below two don’t represent much Gothic fashion but I especially like formal wears, simple but elegant.

I think the idea of Givenchy used in Gothic is the unique printed tees, ornamentation and definately the dark color palette used. What do you guys think of Givenchy Fall 2013, even though Summer has just begun?

As always, this is my point of interpretation and my opinion. I only did that many research therefore would love to hear comments on your thoughts and whether did I misunderstand or explained wrongly. Cheers!

Bye bye boring formal wear!

Process

Ever wonder what to wear for presentations / job interviews / work or formal day event? It’s always the black slacks and white shirt match. I know I have gotten bored of that match. I believe adding colours to our everyday clothes will catch people’s attention and definitely make you stand out.

One of my suggestions would be adding colours to your daily outfit. Red chinos with a darker shirt colour and a loafers to show your true personality and get notice for it. It’s semi-formal / formal without looking boring, that’s for sure. I guess you have to know whether is wearing this acceptable to the event you are attending. I know I have been mentioning about chinos in most of my post, but only because I think the variety of colours in your closet would let you dress up more vibrantly everyday.

A short do’s for formal attire:
✔ Have 3 colours or less in your whole outfit to avoid looking distracting
✔ Fitting is the key to every well-dressed outfit
✔ Cologne is a must to avoid inappropriate body odour.

What do you think of this outfit? I’m trying weekly to update at least one outfit of the day post.

Camouflage are back!

Camouflage are back! Yup, you heard me right, camouflage used to be a big trend back in the days but it is coming back. This military trend on clothes used to be on every corner of the street and everyone had to own a pair of them to feel trendy at the time, however over the years no one was wearing and I suppose everyone just left it in their closet.

But the trend started picking up again when top designers and brands like Givenchy started putting them back on the runway. This time it’s coming more strong! With not just cameo pants, but shirts, shoes, bags and suits. It’s literally taking over the world.

However, I must say, cameo design are not easy to match with our daily outfit without looking like a complete fashion amateur. It’s distinctive design would probably make you look like an army if you are not cautious about how you wear it. Army wears camouflage uniform was to blend in with the surroundings of greenery, however we are to make a fashion statement and stand out though.

Here are a few ways to dress with cameo design. Pictures are from Riccardotisci.

Personally, I do not own anything with camouflage design. One reason is that it doesn’t attract me much, but maybe it’s because I haven’t gone into this trend yet. The other reason could be the difficulty in finding the right clothes to match it without looking like a fashion disaster. After looking through inspirations on the web, I find it amazing how it actually fit well with a simple black t-shirt can fit this distinctive cameo chinos or a cameo shirt fitting with regular blue jeans. I guess it’s a fashion I should and could explore more. What’s your take on camouflage design items?

Where to get camouflage design items? I went shopping today and found a few brand that carries camouflage design. I believe it ain’t hard to find since it’s becoming a trend. I went Topman today and saw a few camouflage design items that I find interesting and might get, maybe you guys can check it out as well. Photos are from Topman.
