Armani Exchange Mixed Media Backpack

Firstly I would like to apologize for the lack of post. As to why I was gone for a month, basically, I went a for a few trips with my friends and family. The few places I went was simply breathtaking, places include Hong Kong, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I do hope to be able to share these wonderful experiences with you guys. However, do give me some time to pick up on my blogging.

Stuff I got in the United States.

Honestly, a good vacation definitely consists of shopping. Everyone’s with me with this? Well, for myself, I have this habit of visiting the local brand of that country to get the best deals and comparatively cheaper price items of that specific brand. So it was no surprise I went straight to Armani Exchange during my trip in the states. Armani Exchange is super expensive in Malaysia, so honestly, I won’t spend the money in my own country.

I came across this lovely bag. Armani Exchange Mixed Media

Armani Echange

It was priced at USD198 less 40%. With that discount, you know I had to get it. Not had to, but I wanted to.

This is what the website describe it’s bag:
Crafted from a mix of leather, cotton and nylon, our multi pocket backpack is a a take everywhere kind of bag.
mixed fabricated
snap closure on front pocket
multiple pocket design
h: 19.0″ l: 14.0″
50% cotton, 50% nylon, 100% leather trim
imported
Well, for me, I am a fan of Armani Exchange and the design of the bag was what I wanted, so I got it. It came in 2 color. Blue and green, I got the blue one because it looked more elegant and more Armani-Exchange-style, if you get what I mean. The picture below shows the bag and it’s alternate color.

Let me know what you think about it. Yay or nay? Will post more stuff I bought from my holiday, believe me, there’s alot of them!

Father’s Day Gift Suggestion – Polos

Father’s day is coming! For those of you who don’t know, father’s day happens on the third week of June every year. It’s simply a day for us kids to show our gratitude to the man who protected us, supported us and most importantly loved us since the day we are born.

If you are scratching your head for the past few weeks, contemplating on what to buy for your dad. Well, here is a suggestion which I think it’s quite a general item for your dad.

Polos.

Variety 2

Yes, polos aka collar t-shirt are one of the easiest and valuable gifts for your dad. I give you 3 reasons.
(1) It is a simple gift ranging from below 100 dollars up to thousands, therefore it can be in your budget range.
(2) It will shows an image or a standard that you are having to be able to buy a specific brand polo for your father.
(3) Who doesn’t like polos? Every middle age or old man wears polo! It’s matches everything.

Variety

Here is where this blog post really comes to help, ways to choose the right polo for your father, or even yourself for that matter. Why not do some Summer shopping while you are at it? Here are a few factors to consider when getting a polo.

(1) Budget
Number 1, budget! Budget, I can say it’s the critical factor when purchasing one of these. What brand to get? How much are you willing to spend on one polo? That’s the question you should ask yourself before buying a polo.

Let me break it down for you. Why are polos ranging from a few bucks to hundreds of dollars?
Quality is one of the simple factor. A branded polo would be able to have a better quality.
Another factor would be the brand. We live in a society where brands sometimes define you even though we try not to, but that’s reality therefore choosing a brand would define you and your position in life. Giving a branded polo would be able to show your dad what position in life you are at and he’s at.

I will list out a few brands of Polo ranging from price and brand. Please note the prices are just estimation and not all brands are listed, just some of my favourite. I am talking about standard polo here with simple one color. I split it into 3 different categories base on the price range

H&M – around 10USD / RM30
Zara – around 30USD / RM100
Topman – around 50USD / RM150
Quiksilver – around 50USD / RM150
Hollister– 29.50USD

Abercrombie & Fitch – 60USD
Armani Exchange – around 50USD / RM300
Lacoste – around 100USD / RM300
Fred Perry – around 100USD / RM360
Ralph Lauren – around 85-100USD / RM360-600
Tommy Hilfiger – around 85USD / RM360

Burberry – around 200USD / RM600
Hugo Boss / Boss Orange / Boss Green 100-200USD / RM600

and the list goes on, but categories the brand of your polo to see where the budget falls into.

(2) Fitting
Brands that appeal to the younger market like Topman and Zara are mostly slim fit which do not looks well on your father. I will just skip it and talk about more mature brands like Ralph Lauren etc. Brands like that have quite a few cutting for different body shapes to appeal to a wider range of market, therefore choosing the right size and fitting is very important. I will cover the basic ones here.

,S,M.L.XL.XXL

Straight Fit
Straight fit is the standard fitting that the length of the shirt is not long, usually for short or men with belly. Most dad I know would fit in straight fit because of the beer belly they have. This would be the most common one, however there isn’t any shape at the waist of the polo.

Slim Fit
Slim fit is longer at the length of the shirt and there would be slightly slimmer at the waist making it nicer for skinny or well-build body. The slim fit showcase the body that you workout so hard for, so if your dad is slim or well-build, get this to showcase his body.

(3) Colour
Colour can be a headache when choosing. We usually just get the simple colours that are easy to match or what we don’t have, for instance black, blue, red… Here I would elaborate on what colour to get for what skin colour. We know some colours flatters your skin colour while others don’t.

All the colours listed below are only guidelines, trying them out would be better, however there a saying “the darker your skin tone, the brighter the color you can get away with.”

dermalicious-sims2-skintone

Pale – Black / White / Red / Blue/ Navy Blue / Light Green / Light Yellow

Rosy-pale or light – White / Pink / Orange / Light Blue / Light Green / Light Yellow

Normal or Tan – Bold colours, eg: Red / Yellow / Green / Purple / Brown

Exotic or Medium – Yellow / Orange / Green / Turqoise

Dark or Native – Black / White / Purple / Blue / Green / Purple

Here is a guideline I found on askmen.

I will update another post talking fully on how to match your cloths from shirts to pants and shoes (full body) to your skin colour. It will be the next post, so stay tune!

These are the 3 main factors when getting a polo and I hope I helped you and gave you an idea to get that for your dad this coming father’s day. Lastly I want to wish all dad a Happy Father’s day! You guys are the best. The times you will try to be brave for your families when you are half as scared as we were, the times that you are willing to blow your own social life to spend time with us, the times when you work overtime to provide for us. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You! To my own dad and all the brave heroes out there. My dad is my Superman. Happy Father’s day!

Bye bye boring formal wear!

Process

Ever wonder what to wear for presentations / job interviews / work or formal day event? It’s always the black slacks and white shirt match. I know I have gotten bored of that match. I believe adding colours to our everyday clothes will catch people’s attention and definitely make you stand out.

One of my suggestions would be adding colours to your daily outfit. Red chinos with a darker shirt colour and a loafers to show your true personality and get notice for it. It’s semi-formal / formal without looking boring, that’s for sure. I guess you have to know whether is wearing this acceptable to the event you are attending. I know I have been mentioning about chinos in most of my post, but only because I think the variety of colours in your closet would let you dress up more vibrantly everyday.

A short do’s for formal attire:
✔ Have 3 colours or less in your whole outfit to avoid looking distracting
✔ Fitting is the key to every well-dressed outfit
✔ Cologne is a must to avoid inappropriate body odour.

What do you think of this outfit? I’m trying weekly to update at least one outfit of the day post.

Ever want to head to class without trying to look like you dress too much, but want to feel like you made an afford on it? Colours! That’s what I do, try to find a colour of your choice that you want to wear and try mix and match. It don’t have to be overly put together, simple T-shirt and Chinos or Jeans will do.

This photo was actually posted on my LookBook awhile back, it’s simple and fits exactly right for classes, not for places that are too cold though, but the temperature here allows me to dress like this. Blue was my colour theme that day. What do you guys think about it? I wore a snapback because of my bad hair day. What are your thoughts on it?

Tip of the day: You don’t necessary need to show the whole world when you have a bad hair day, just wear a simple snapback to sort this problem out!

Footwear to get for Spring!

N.HOOLYWOOD and Generic Surplus came together to create a range of collaborative seasonal footwear. Even though I’m not a fan of these brands, partly I never heard of it, but I came across their collection through some news and I was in love with the collection. Their new collection of Spring/Summer 2013 footwear is just amazing!

20130413-021640.jpg

I am a fan of footwear and I don’t think I have enough, or for that matter, I don’t think I’ll ever have enough. These shoes above just screams “get me!”. I love shoes with this simple design, nothing extraordinary, just a simple shoe for everyday life. I especially love the mixture of colours as well.

“Featuring thick cushioned insoles and waxed cotton laces, the footwear comes in either two-tone cow suede renditions of navy/black, charcoal/red, and yellow/grey alongside tonal linen editions in colorways of khaki and charcoal. Each pair comes complete with white rubber foxing, dual-branded insoles and subtle N.HOOLYWOOD branding along the tongue.” Quoted from hypebeast.com

However, as I was reading through the article, it is only selling now in Japan, retailing for ¥23,100 JPY (approximately $232 USD) each. Woah! That is definitely out of budget, for me I suppose. I understand designer shoes are expensive and I would definitely pay that price to get one if I had the money, so if you are spending on a budget for Spring, why not try an alternative.

Personally I love the brand Vans! It has the similiar design and it’s comfortable to wear and durable as well. Price range about $45-60, therefore I think it’s affordable for mostly everyone. So if you are in love with the shoes above but spending on a budget, why not try my alternative. What do you guys think?

Salvatore Ferragamo Men Spring/Summer 2013

Spring is here and when you think of spring, flowers and greenery starts to grow. Salvatore Ferragamo latest spring/summer men collection 2013 caught my eyes out of the hundreds of fashion shows. Have a look at it below if you have not though.

The latest collection of Salvatore Ferragamo plays with colours  Not just any colours  but bright colours that’s striking. I don’t think most men dare to wear clothing with such striking colour, but I actually love them! From the past year, coloured pants like chinos are making its comeback and it’s getting more and more striking. Even though some brands slowly dull up their line of clothing, I absolutely love Salvatore Ferragamo striking colour clothing line.

These are some of my favourites!

20130403-001743.jpg20130403-001735.jpg20130403-001729.jpg20130403-001814.jpg20130403-001809.jpg20130403-001803.jpg20130403-001750.jpg20130403-001754.jpg20130403-004823.jpg20130403-001759.jpg

I would love to get my hands on this fashion line if I had the money though. I think this fashion would not last very long. Besides, striking colour clothes are hard to match, as certain colours only goes with certain colours, therefore getting a pair definitely won’t be enough, but I really wish I could get my hands on it! What do you guys think? As a guy, would you wear these fashion on a daily basis? As a girl, would you like to see guys wearing these fashion?
