Eternity Summer by Calvin Klein

Eternity_Summer_-_Calvin_Klein

It’s not everyday I walk through a store and the smell catches my attention. Make no mistake, I still am in love with my Abercrombie Fierce cologne I talk about, (link). However, Calvin Klein is one of the other cologne brand that I am fascinated with too.

Eternity Summer by Calvin Klein is elegant in my opinion and it brings along a hint of Summer along with it’s signature Eternity by Calvin Klein. Price at USD32.99 (RM105) for 100ml, which is very affordable and worth it. I don’t always recommend to change your signature smell when you already have one, but why not spice things up for the Summer?

The Right Swimwear Style for You

I am finally back. It took awhile, but honestly I was busy with many stuff in my life after I graduated from my degree. What matters most is I am back and with more post than before, at least regular ones. I shall kick out with something soft while I sort through some of my Outfit of the Day and Stuff I Bought post.

Summer is coming soon for most places and what’s the first thing that comes into mind? Beach, of course! Summer, sun and beach, it’s definitely important to remember to get the best swimwear shorts. I saw a few guides to getting the right one and this particular one interests me.

What Swimwear Style Is Right For You?

It’s separate into six categories: tall men (6′ or above), short men and then buff, thin or big build.

Tall & Buff

Are you 6′ or taller, with broad shoulders and chest, and do you like to workout with weights, then you fall into the tall & buff category meaning you can wear anything you like because chances are it will always look good on you. If you have a good tan, lighter colors like white or pastel tones look great, but bear in mind that white rarely stays like that for a long time. In case you like bolder patterns, think about a classic paisley, madras or gingham.

Tall & Buff men's swimwear

Tall & Thin

If you are 6′ or taller with a slender built, go for traditional board shorts. An 8″ inseam is enough for people around 6′, and taller men can increase it to 10″ as long as they end above the knee. While a fuller cut is good, avoid the baggy board shorts trend from the 1990′s. They have the unfortunate tendency to look too youthful or simply sloppy. If you are really tall, it will be difficult to find anything with a longer inseam. You definitely want to avoid vertical stripes, because these will give you the appearance of being taller and thinner than you already are. On the other hand, horizontal stripes may work for you. In any case, avoid skinny Speedo swim briefs because chances are it will make you look boyish.  In terms of color choice, your complexion should be a good guide: if you are pale, avoid extreme colors in terms of lightness and darkness, whereas men with a tan often look better with lighter or bright colors. A rich blue like in the picture (or green, red, etc. ) will work for anybody.

Tall & Thin swim shorts

Big & Tall

As a big & tall man, you want to look advantageous and long, dark, solids board shorts will do just that for you. If your thighs are not too strong, try to avoid shorts that are too baggy. If you prefer patterns, go for a micro pattern or vertical stripes.  Avoid swim trunks, Speedo briefs and thong style swimwear.

Big & Tall swimsuits

Short & Buff

The best style for shorter, buff men will be a trunk or boxer style because the shorter inseam makes  you look taller. I’d recommend avoiding suits with an inseam longer than 6″. At any cost, avoid board shorts because they make you visually even shorter and often overhang the knee, while vertical stripes will help you look taller.

Short & Buff swim trunks

Short & Thin

If you are short and slender opt for trunks, or slim board shorts with a shorter inseam. Avoid bold and large patterns, as they will overpower your small stature. Choose microprints, or low contrast stripes instead.

Short & Thin swim trunks

Short & Big

In case you are shorter and bigger, consider a pair of high-cut briefs that would give the illusion of longer legs. Below you can see the original model in khaki which was designed for the  Underwater Demolition Team in the forties and they are still used by the Navy Seals today. At just $18, you get a classic swim trunk that won’t break the bank.  You want to opt for a looser fit without an elastic waistband, because it will make you look bigger. If the swimsuit cuts into your stomach, better go with the next larger size. Dark solids colors will always work and often have a slimming effect, but dark vertical stripes are also good as long as they are not too bold.

What Not to Wear

Regardless of your stature and build, if the goal is to look great at the beach, there are a few things to avoid that apply to everyone interested in a classic look. If possible, avoid large logo or brand symbols. I am sure you all have seen men in large Armani, Versace or Hugo Boss shorts or briefs but big branding tends to scream with a lack of self confidence, not to mention lack of personal style. So, don’t be a brand victim and choose a tasteful model that suits your physique and complexion rather than being the equivalent of an advertising billboard.

It’s up to you eventually. I really find this article useful, so go check them out. Let me know if you have any opinion about it as well.

Marc Jacobs Menswear Spring 2014

Menswear Spring 2014 fashion shows are happening all around the world, 4 cities to be exact. New York, Milan, Paris and London. Even though I still don’t get why it’s only Summer 2013 but designers already came out with Spring 2014 collection. No matter what, I will try to cover as many brands as possible, but most likely covering brands that I came across that I like, so you guys can have a look at some wonderful design.

Marc Jacobs stood out among some of the menswear fashion while I was scrolling through my iPad. Marc Jacobs has unveiled a lookbook for his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, exploring American heritage with a fashionable twist. A slick and glitzy feeling can be felt from the range of blazers, printed shirts and lightweight sweaters, which adopt a decidedly pastel colour palette. Meticulously cropped trousers show the perfect amount of ankle for summer, matching well with bowling-inspired casual tops.

I like the slick look with it’s pastel colour matching suit and pants.

The cardigan and sweater looks weirdly good on the models, but I am not sure whether can I pull it off.

marc_jacobs_022_1366.450x675

The folding is a little bit high from what I would wear, but it’s still a nice suit.

Love this suit, it is absolutely gorgeous!

The red/maroon in this suit is lovely!

marc_jacobs_028_1366.450x675

I would say Marc Jacobs did an amazing job designing the suits with it’s pastel colour palette fitted the spring theme as well as the navy blue and maroon. It don’t look too hot to wear in spring either as like in my country, where it is hot all year long, it could be wore here as well. However some of the cutting of the clothes may be a little but hard to wear in our daily life as we don’t look so fit and good looking as the models, but we all hope to look like them when wearing it right?

Tell me what you think!

#AbercrombieHOT

Outfit of the day is back, haven’t gotten the time to photograph this. Life has been hectic, therefore so sorry for the late post.

This outfit is inspired by the staff and models of my favourite brand Abercrombie and Fitch. Their signature checkered shirt with a ripped jeans and a flip-flops is what most of the Abercrombie stores associate wears. I actually add a beg and a watch to suit our everyday life. This fashion is consider casual because of the flops, but you can change it into a semi-formal wear by wearing shoes.

Coach Spring/Summer 2013

I caught a movie earlier on in a mall. As usual I walked pass brands but today something caught my eye. I actually stood in front of Coach and admire the campaign shoots of the models and Coach latest collection as well. To be honest, I was never really a fan of Coach, the design was always quite mature for my own age and it wasn’t anything much stylish. However, what I saw today was completely different from what I thought I would see.

Firstly, their models international male models whom I actually recognize without searching them on the web, Sean O’Pry, Simon Nessman and Shaun DeWet. Secondly, the styles are amazing, especially the bags! Here’s a quick look and photos are from Coach.

coach_summer002 Simon Nessman. (Yes, he is the face of Giorgio Armani, Acqua di Giò)

coach2013-04Shaun DeWet.

coach2013-03(and definitely) Sean O’Pry.

I think this season’s style will appeal to a younger crowd, which is the mid twenties more and I would love to get my hands on one of those bags. Even though it’s abit pricey for the everyday used, but if it’s quality is good, I think indulging in it once in a while wouldn’t be bad either. ;P

Some stuff you can get for me if you ever am in the mood gifting me items.

I have been looking for an item like this for quite sometime! It’s big enough for my wallet, phone and iPad (34cm x 25cm), however it cost about 500USD or 1500MYR. A little bit pricey for my budget though.

Did I say how much I loved bags? No? Well, I love them, especially bags like these! It’s love at first sight with these, hopefully one day, I would be able to own more of these bags!

What’s your view on Coach latest campaign, a more stylish one. Do you love them more? Give me your opinion. =D

Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister Summer Fashion!

Summer is here soon! Throw your jackets, jeans or any overcoat away, not literally though, because it’s time for the beach, tan and summer fashion! Yup, my favourite part are still the fashion. Summer is actually a time when everybody looks forward to, but for me, from where I stay, it’s all year summer therefore it can be boring, but I love the fact that I can buy wearable clothes around the world because of Summer fashion. I definitely enjoy shorts, surf shorts because it doesn’t restrict much movements compare to jeans.

Came across Abercrombie and Fitch & Hollister summer fashion and I love it. I love the brands because of it’s fitting and comfort along with some of their design! However it’s a little bit sad because I can’t get it in my country, but I would recommend it for the fitting and comfort.

Photos are from Abercombie and Hollister.

People with long legs (legs longer than torso) could actually go for shorts shorter than knee length as it looks good! One of the style I think I could wear.

Check out their summer fashion on their website! Abercombie and Hollister.
